System FAQs
Sometimes a service call can be avoided by checking system
components.
Q: My system will not come on at all. A: Check to make
sure the water is turned on at the double check and check to see if the
controller is in the on position.
Q: System will not shut off. A: This
is a mechanical problem with a station valve and not normally a controller
problem. Shut off the water and call for valve repair.
Q: My system was
just installed three years ago and now the coverage is not adequate. A: Plants
and landscape possibly have grown up and you need to have the heads moved or
raised.
Q: My sprinkler heads are leaking
after the station has shut off. A: A leaking head normally indicates a bad
solenoid valve that needs to be replaced.
Q: My system runs through a
cycle and then starts over again. A: Possibly the controller has multiple
start times programmed. Check the programming.
Q: My system waters three days per
week and still appears dry. A: Check the number of minutes per station.
Rotary heads will require more time than spray heads. Normally the rotary heads
will require 20-50 minutes and the spray heads 10-30 minutes depending on the
soil, wind and spacing.
Q: When my system is running water leaks out of
the heads. A: When a sprinkler heads starts leaking it needs to be
replaced.
Q: Some of my heads won't go down after the station has turned
off. A: When a sprinkler head sticks it needs to be replaced.
